Traveling the world was a dream even when there were no resources, no possibility, and literally no money.
And when I started to get the hang around it, I applied for a Spanish visa to attend a conference. After two months of holding my passport, they sent me a rejection because what you can expect on a fresh passport with literally not much of a background. And yes, a green passport.
I planned to change this and make some travel history before I apply for big visas.
So, I planned a trip to far east. The countries include Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
When I shared this information with my family, my father asked me the reason of the trip. I said it’s for tourism purpose and to which he replied that I’m wasting the money.
The trip was much better than I imagined. I missed a local flight from Bangkok to Phuket, booked couple of expensive trips from hotels and airports, mistakenly booked a 5* hotel and found out later, and so on.
But among the good parts, I had the best time of my life. I took a trip to islands from Phuket, visited Genting Highlands from Kuala Lumpur, and climbed Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka.
Since then I had been to over 10 countries. And I spent every new years eve in different cities in the world, except Istanbul twice.
Getting visas on the green passport is not easy. I applied for the US visa couple of times before I finally get it. But I believe if you have the travel bug, you’ll find your way.
